Job Description

American Traffic Solutions (ATS) - Fleet is a leader in Toll & Violations Management Solutions, along with License and Titling services. ATS delivers Toll and Violation Management solutions to not only fleets but also Toll Authorities and Municipalities. In addition, ATS works with rental car companies and fleet management companies to offer services that include vehicle registration & titling, registration renewal management, duplicate title/re-titling, and state change of title management (including new license plates).

ATS' Mesa office is looking for a Senior Business Systems Analyst / Systems Designer for the Fleet Services organization. The successful individual is responsible for designing innovative web-based applications. He/She will frequently work as a liaison between the Technology groups and several non-Technology groups within the company.  As a partner to the non-Technology groups within the business unit, the Systems Designer analyzes complex business problems, identifies areas where automated systems may assist and works with the Technology group to design the best solutions. Must be able to identify and document user-requirements and contribute to the evaluation and development of systems. Also responsible for recording all project requests submitted by the business group and bringing visibility to the potential interactions and reuse of various automated systems throughout the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gain a thorough understanding and working knowledge of all processes and systems in order to make strategic decisions and provide solution recommendations
  • Conduct various user research activities, including user interviews, usability testing, and surveys
  • Evaluate research results in order to design appropriate technology solutions in line with application vision
  • Create wireframes, storyboards, flow charts and prototypes to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas to the internal team, senior leadership, and partners
  • Gather and document business requirements as user stories, which may include prototypes and wireframes, that can be passed to the technology groups for eventual implementation
  • Lead the execution of user-acceptance testing of new or modified systems
  • Analyze complex business problems and sell your solutions to various stakeholders including senior leadership and clients
  • Act as the interpreter between non-technology and technology groups regarding business requirements and system capabilities
  • Establish strong working relationships with clients, various teams, and leadership within the organization
  • Review test plans for acceptance criteria coverage
  • Facilitate joint application design (JAD) sessions
  • Examine and evaluate purpose and content of business reports to develop new or improve existing format, use, and control
  • Ensure report conversions to data warehouse extracts provide expected results
  • Assist with the execution of user-acceptance testing of new or modified systems

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 6+ years’ experience designing innovative, web-based applications, including analyzing complex business problems, gathering and documenting business requirements, writing test cases, and assisting with user-acceptance testing coordination and planning
  • Experience developing functional architecture from design to prototype to product release
  • Experience managing the requirements gathering and documentation process
  • Experience with user-interface research and analysis methods and techniques
  • Solid experience in creating wireframes, storyboards, flow charts, site maps, prototypes
  • Exposure to a wide variety of software development methodologies, such as SCRUM, waterfall and iterative
  • Advanced skills in MS Office tools: Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Visio
  • Excellent skills in critical thinking and analysis, meeting facilitation, verbal and written communications, and interpersonal interactions
